I've been told that it is a lot better to get a celica 3sgte with a mr2 turbo transmission. I have an st celica and I was wondering if I was to get the mr2 tranny and the celica 3sgte would it bolt up to the celica gt engine/tranny mounts or would it be a bitch to do? Also, would I have to use an mr2 shift linkage?

QUOTE(6g25th @ May 24, 2006 - 10:49 PM) I've been told that it is a lot better to get a celica 3sgte with a mr2 turbo transmission. I have an st celica and I was wondering if I was to get the mr2 tranny and the celica 3sgte would it bolt up to the celica gt engine/tranny mounts or would it be a bitch to do? Also, would I have to use an mr2 shift linkage? sounds like the setup i have. i didnt do my own swap, but as far as i know, the tranny was a bitch to do. i dont know a lot of the details (i know, i should) but i DO know that you need the alltrac shift cables, and there is a site that shows how to modify the linkage from RWD to FWD...the guy that did my swap didnt follow that site however. he made custom brackets and they work just fine. |
