Well I just got a new job at Best Buy working in Car Fi of all places. After wanting to sell my car by the end of the summer the discounts I can get have changed my mind. Essentialy I can get about 2k worth of stuff for about 600 installed in my car. So after finding out that the 300 dollars I paid for the last install was a waste. (they did numerous things wrong and one pair of midbass speakers are blown because of it) I am going to start working on my interior.

As of this moment I have 2 sets of cl-61a's, an infinity refference amp (7540a I think), and a jvc head units. The plane is to get a nice alpine, kenwood, or pioneer deck, 2 10" infinity kappa perfects (I get them cheap), an infinity amp to go with them, and replace my cdt cl-6's that are blown with something else by them. That being said I am going to make custom fibre glass enclosures in the corners of my trunk for the subs. Before I do this though I am sanding my interior and painting it white.

Now, one of the things I would like to try first is to make as much of the center console into one piece as possible. I would remove the ash trays and any extra holes (including the clock), and then join them together with fibre glass? I was wondering if anyone has tried this and was successful? At the moment I haven't had time to rip it out, but I imagine once I get it done it is going to be a royal pita to get it out (probably would need to remove the passenger seat to get it out), but it should look cool. Also I have a feeling I will need to change some of the places it screws into the floor. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The next thing I am considering is removing the passenger seat and covering it in fibre glass or some other material to mak it flat? I would then mount my amps there for looks (mind you I will be getting a viper car alarm since its dirt cheap due to my discount) and speaking of amps I will sand and paint them white to match. I would probably change the rear speakers so they are angled forward or just might change the rear tirm altogether.

I know this is going to be an ungodly amount of hours, but I figure it will be relatively cheap to do (hours spent compared to the dollar amount) and I have plenty of time. I have yet to work with fibre glass so I will start small by filling in bits here and there and work my way up, but if anyone has any tips or ideas I would like to hear them.

buy a second hand console and do the work to that first as you might not like it once you're hacked yours to bits.
