I was looking around at some of the crate engine sources and I saw a variety of prices. Does anyone know a rough ballpark for what a 5SFE should cost on average?
jspecautosports.com $895 !!!! ???? ![]() (it says engine only but then goes on to list all this other stuff that is included. strange) orientengine.com $2200 powerpro200.com $2545 -------------------- 94 CelicaGT producing massive amonts of NOx - UGH!!!
98 Volvo V70 - guzzling lots of gas - GAAH! |

Have you considered a low mile 5sfe from a junk yard? I bet you can get a decent one shipped to you for under $500. No sense in putting a new economy engine in a fairly old car unless you were planning to keep it for a VERY long time. Even then, the other route would be better since those engines have been known to last 300,000 miles.
