Ok so I got that code 52 last week and just ordered the ATS GM knock sensor kit over the weekend. Now today i just read somewhere on mr2oc that all the GM sensor does is "ignore knock" because it vibrates at a different frequency than the stock toyota one.
What do you guys make of this? I dont want to run the risk of damaging my engine because i'm getting undetected knock. did i just waste my money on the "more durable" ATS GM sensor? |

just finished reading this thread too:
http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=4841...ht=knock+sensor i still cant decide. nobody seems to like the GM sensor, but there are people who use it and have no problems. one thing i did learn though, is that i have to fix whatever was causing knock in the first place. new ignition components are on the top of the list. |
