http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...id=968332188492 QUOTE 172.1 (1) If a police officer has reason to believe that a person is driving, or has driven, a motor vehicle on a highway in a race, the officer may, (a) request that the person surrender his or her driver’s licence; (b) order the motor vehicle that was being driven by the person to be impounded; or (c ) both request the surrender of the driver’s licence as provided in clause (a) and order the motor vehicle to be impounded as provided in clause (b). [..] No appeal or review (9) There is no appeal or review from a licence suspension or impound order under this section. nitrous is gonna be illegal too wonder what they will consider 'enough reason' to impound a car/take someone's license ![]() This post has been edited by elvasoshexai: Jun 10, 2006 - 10:09 PM -------------------- |

here in cali, street glow, nitrous, exhaust, intake all illegal. exhaust doesnt meet sound level limits, intake and intercoolers (according to chp) modifiy smog, and street glow is a "distraction to other drivers" which I think is a joke, I dont have street glow, but id rather some civic running street glow than the blonde in the jetta with the cell phone grafted to her face doing her makeup in her rearview mirror.
if two vehciles are accelerating at the same rate of speed untill one break the speed limit, both cars are street racing. Thats how they define it here in cali at least. Ive been thrown in handcuffs before driving home at 1am, he asked me to pop my hood. I walked to the back of the car (in my mr2) and he called me a smartass so i popped the front and he asked where my engine was. Got in my face, we had 2 squad cars and 1 local PD bike and a towing truck [not a flatbed, good luck trying to get my car on that]. trying to see if anything was illegal. Sometimes you just end up in a bad situation, but its the price we pay to modify cars. Btw, if they have to tow your car any damage your vehcile sustains during the legal process of correcting your mistake is on your head. AND you pay for towing charges and impounding fees. Oh there IS a loophole...The Bill also bans the connection of after-market nitrous oxide fuel systems on all public streets and highways and provides for fines of up to $2000 and jail terms of up to 6 months for convictions. ...the "connection" you can have a nitrous tank just not connected. If you reallly want to run nitrous, hide the bottle, paint it black, and have a tool so you can remove all the lines quickly if need be. Sounds pretty dumb to me, oh well not really much we can do.
