so, i took some exhaust damage when i was rear ended...today im droppin the old parts off to replace with junkyard items i'll get later this week.

well the rear muffler is off and i LOVE how it sounds! but its just too loud frown.gif. what could i put back there to quiet it down but not loose the tone that it has now? i'd like to pretty much cut the noise level in half or more. performance wise it feels exactly the same as before, so that muffler isnt causing any restriction. i'd prefer to not chop up a center section, just something that a shop can flange to the stock piping and hang back there. also no fart canno 3" or larger exhaust tips please, its a geo for crying out loud!

summary:
no muffler sounds good, but is too loud. need something to dampen noise thats not ricey looking or sounding and is pretty cheap.

I live NE of Peoria. About a 2 hour drive from you. I will get a pic for you. It needs to be polished but I will just get you a pic so you can see it anyway. It had a 2.5" exhaust. If you are on a 2.25 system, you will need the exhaust shop to make a transition - not a big deal.

I would also give you a ride in the beast if you like smile.gif

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.
