Your favorite, Well I have been in the process of this resto swap for 2 years and i want it done in the next 2 months. I have a 96 st205 engine into a 94 st. I have the 205 harness plugged into the st body harness; It will not turn over tried replacing the st reley nothing. Have you done a 205 to st chassis? I have the harness installed on the engine and the engine is in the car, so i really do not want to take it off. I thought that the same generation engines would be plug and play with some minor wiring. I have a gt ea1 diagram but I can't find one for the 205; i am assuming that the problem is in this plug. I have also assumed that the 205 plugs on the ecu side would be the same as the st on the body side behind the climate control. if youy have any info or another person who has done this swap please let me know. any and all help is greatly appriciated.

I need some help from anyone that has done a st205 engine into an st. If anyone is in the central ohio area I have lots of beer and i know quite a bit, but wiring is my weakest link i need someone to tell me where to start looking thanks lance.

I'm assuming you are putting a RHD ST205 motor in tyour LHD '94 ST? There are a fair amount of wiring differences between LHD and RHD in the dash harness area. That may be your problem. Time to start tracing the problem.

When the key is in the 'off' position, does the correct ECU pin get power?
When you turn the key to the 'on' position, do the correct ECU pins get power?
Does the 'STA' signal get to the ECU? Is the fuel pump priming?
When you turn the key, is power getting to the starter?

We don't have enough info from here to actually help you out though - you gotta start trying things and let us know what you found to be wrong so we can help you fix it.

No the ecu pin does not get power; The starter pin is not getting power to the ecu when the key is off or on. There is power at the efi and st reley; but the reley is not getting the signal to close from the ignition. I think that the ignition switch needs some wiring help. From the diagrams I have the starter ecu pin is different from the st205; different plug totally. I don't think the signal is getting to the ecu and the fuel pump is not priming? I really do not want to remove the harness from the engine, but doc tweak said he can wire it for me and the price is fair. Should i just have him wire it and be done with it? I would like to learn and i have a good idea what I am suposed to be doing. The ecu pinouts are different from diagram to diagram. I started looking at the 3 plugs behind the center console and traced them to the ecu plug, but i am having a hard time determining which pins from the st205 harness need to be rewired to match the st .thanks lance

You won't find diagrams that match 100% with your car, unless you can read Japanese and know somebody who can get them from a dealer in Japan... I used the diagrams from a Euro ST205 to help me out with my swap. About 6-10 wires don't match up, but they were easy enough to trace.

If you want to do the wiring yourself, get the book for your specific car from a local dealer and then get the ST205 manual you can get on Ebay on CD... and match all the wire up.

You know now its not a plug 'n play swap (it probably is closer to plug 'n play on a GT), so now you have some wiring to do....
