I think my mom has the beginning stages of alcoholism and i dont know what to do. My mom has drunk and driven many times and then passed out on the living room floor of where we live. Ive yelled at her many many times and honestly ive come to the point of wanting to punch her. I live without a father and i have lived without a father for over 11 yrs now so its not like i can turn to him and i am the only child here. I dont have a brother or sister to turn to and i just dont know what to do. My mom and i made a promise that she would only drink one drink a nite and if she couldnt do it, then i was not responsible for my own actions towards her and im on the verge of beating the **** out of her. LITERALLY. Ive had it. She broke the promise TWICE in a week and cant even control that.

Does anybody have this problem running in their family? And please dont give me that obvious bring her to AA meetings cuz u know that it wont work unless she's willing to go.

Hitting her you should never do. IMO, you need a third party, and that third party should be a professional. Talk to your mom, her health benefits may include a few FREE therapy/psychologist/psychiatrist appointments per year. Don't take your time here, get it done and you'll get her the help she needs.
