So, i wanna turbo my motor, but dont wanna risk blowing another head. Ive poped two heads so far and the head on my new motor is ticking already. So im thinking that what i might do over the next little while is build up a hybrid 5sfe and 3sgte motor. I know ive already seen some info on a motor like this. I was thinking 5s block, 3s head, and oil pan, 5s intake manifold with throttel body, 2 bar map, tubular equal length turbo manifold, ct20 or a t3/t4 turbo. Just run ARP bolt on the head, and stock enternals in the block. Would this work?/what majour problems would i have making this motor? finding, buying, building the motor not a problem.

QUOTE(jdg371 @ Jun 28, 2006 - 5:55 PM) I think the big issue with it is the water jacket.. they dont seem to match up properly causing poor cooling of the block and head. not a big issue for me. If i build the motor, im gonna send the block to my buddies shop because they have a hudge machine shop. Ill get him to mill out the waterjackets QUOTE(presure2 @ Jun 28, 2006 - 6:06 PM) QUOTE(Valo666 @ Jun 28, 2006 - 5:33 PM) So, i wanna turbo my motor, but dont wanna risk blowing another head. As for the ems..i can get AEM ones for cheap for my work..like $1200 cheaper than list. |

(well, the crank will, but you need custom rods and pistons). You'll want to completely re-work the head to take advantage of the larger displacement. Then the old fuel system, turbo, and everything else that goes along with a good build of a motor. I guess the short answer is that yes, you *start* with a 3s-gte and a 5s block... -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon
