hey thats cool! i wont have to buy any of those round metal tightening thingies? and what do you mean keep the resonator in place? whats a resonator?

and is there any other filter i can use?

also, if you can just buy a plastic tube and a K&N filter, wouldnt something like this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-90-96-9...000332759QQrdZ1

work as good as any other short ram since it is a k&N filter?

nope the worm clamp is included with the filter (aka the metal tightening thingie). the resonator is the black hollow box that branches off the intake tube right by the throttle body. it is there to resonate certain frequencies of sound and control the noise generated by the stock intake. with an aftermarket pipe, their is no resonator, and ive never heard a celi with an injen for example so i cant comment on what it sounds like. but i can say, mine sounds badass under throttle and turns heads. for a 1.8L economy engine, it sounds pretty damn good. no you dont have to use that filter, but make sure you get one that will fit the 2.5" tube if you go this route.

another thing, the aftermarket sri's like injen will have holes predrilled in them for the iat (intake air temp) sensor. i just have my iat sensor secured to the side by the filter since it isnt crucial to be in the airflow as long as it reads the air temp in the engine bay (also, have sensor blocked from radiant heat of exhaust manifold). could drill a hole in the coupling though and place a grommet there for the sensor if you wish.

like i said, its cheap and sounds great but if you want to pay for the name injen, go ahead.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
