well, i was doin some searching for some subs for my car (i dont have a whole lot of money), and i came across this.

For a beginner making a box, sealed is the way you want to go. And you dont have to be much of a "builder" to make a sub box. Its a box afterall. Just be precise and measure everything, make sure to seal it like big said.
There are so many amps out there you really shouldnt cheap out on one. This is where you will get the best output and difference, is within your amp. If you dont have enough money for a good amp, then save up more. This is a sound system, and you dont want to cheap out, cuz you will just end up spending more money in the long run, be patient.
