Hi, I looked throgh FAQ and couldn't find any good info on 1.8L to 2.2L swaps.
My car looses a lot of oil and its either I sell (get rid of it) or swap an engine into it. And since its really difficult to find 1.8L I was thinking of swaping 2.2L in place of it. So my question is how hard it is to swap 2.2L engine + auto tranny (my car is auto) into 1.8L ST? Do I use the same mounts or will I need to make new mounts for the engine/tranny? Will the wiring just plug in? (I know I'll need to use another ECU)? If anyone did this before please tell how difficult it is and if it is or not a direct fit. Thank you ![]() -------------------- <<AKA THA RUSSIAN>>

Too bad I dont have a garage. If I did I would buy an old civic as my daily while doing a swap. But since I cant do that and as I found out now that putting 2.2L is a lot of work = big $$$$ at AutoSHOP I guess I'll start looking for another celica.

This is very "russian"! - (felt I could say that being russian myself). Having 2.2 myself must say it feels surprisingly weak for such a light car. Gas mileage is significantly worse than 1.8. Val |
