I've picked up a Geo Metro FXi. I'm thinking it's a 91 or something. Anyway, I'm going to park the Celica and work on that beast for a bit. It has the 1.0 3 cylinder motor. I was wondering if an old 4age would fit in. I plan on making a screeming demand out of this car btw. Already got plexy for the glass and gutting interior. It's that root, or stick with the Celica and put a big upgrade on it. I'd kind of like to fix up something I can afford right now, and save the Celica for when I have money. I want to get a nice 3rd or 4th gen 3sgte for the Celica, and I just can't do that. So, I'd like to put one heck of a NA motor in a Metro. They make some nice turbo kits for the 1.0 liters. I might go that root instead of motor swap. But I'd like a NA car. It'll be like a go-kart I drive on the street!

Bulldog, why start a project with a POS like a GEO? If you want to build a real light car for cheap and make it fast, there are ALOT better options out there. For me, it would be a 85-89 MR2. You can get those things for under a grand in working condition. They are just as light, have a suspension built for turning, and look ALOT cooler. If you need a back seat, there are other options as well.

That is what I thought at first. I started doing a little research on it just for the heck of it, and they make a ton of parts for those things. And everything they make is really cheap. Image, a new race spec cam for $20, that is crazy. Everything was really cheap. I wanted to get an old Honda to fix up because of parts, but not anymore. And some of them have 4 wheel independent suspension, which is very tunable. I'm still thinking of an mr2 though, that is a very good choice. Since I know more about Toyota, that helps all the more.

my buddy has a coustom made 3 cylinder turbo kit on his geo. Fully tubular manifold, t3/t4 turbo (was originaly a T27 *i think..its the turbo off the SR20), FMIC via SR20DET sidemount..lol..its sooo funny but soo fast. My buddy picked up another one and is thinking about puttin a GSX-R motor into it.

There is a video of one of those on streetfire.net. The car is too heavy for the motor, but it's a really cool idea. I think 2 sport bike motors would make it run nice. Or a Hyabusa motor.
EDIT: The Swift GTi came with a stock 3 cylinder turbo in 87-89, I think. They are little screaming demonds. If you really wanted a crazy ride, get an old Justy (Same Car except AWD) and drop in one of the g13b motors (DOHC 1.3 liter) and turbo it. I guess the transmissions all bolt up in those things. There is a video of one of those on streetfire.net too.
