I'm not sure if this is the right section, and i've seen a post similar to this before, but I cant find it again, and I dont know how to search for it again..it had a scale for knowledge, with 0 being something like someone who brings to the dealership for everything, and 10 being someone like Dr./Manny/Jeff etc...

Im looking at eventually doing a 3's swap, and im trying to learn and research as much as i can, and as far as i can gather, its a fairly straight-forward swap, unbolt/unplug old engine, pull it, drop in 3's, and bolt/plug her in, with the only major difficulty comming from the wiring harness...thing is im not the most knowledgeable when it comes to cars...I took mechanics in high school, so i have a basic understanding of how to do things, oil changes, minor tune-ups, ive done brakes on my previous car, found the tranny flush on the DIY and did that, but thats about the extent of my abilities. Would you guys say that something like this is beyond my capabilities?

I just was wondering how much the rest of you know about cars, maybe how much you knew before and after you did the swap (if youve done one)

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Well give it 30 seconds and lagos will chime in this is his favorite topic!

So anyhow... Doing a swap on a 6gc gt is not too difficult. It all depends on how much mechanical skill you have. But the nice part about this board is theres quite a few writeups on how to swap in a 3sgte motor into a 6gc.

It makes it really simple that you can use the same transmission. It also makes it really simple that you can go ahead and get a wiring harness made for the car (dr.tweak/Dgperformance). Its not really that hard out of all the swaps I have seen.

This has really been covered a quite a few times... if you try to search around you can find tons of information on it.
