Hey, I'm new to the board. I just bought my 6gc about 3 weeks ago. I used to drive a 85 mr2. I'm just starting with some maintenance on my 6gc before I start with some mods.

I was driving yesterday when my check engine light came on. Diagnostics has given me a error code #41 (Throttle Position Sensor). My Hanes manual says I should have the TPS replaced by a shop, but I really don't want to spend the $$ if I don't have to. I can buy a new TPS online for $80 but I don't know how to install it.

Anyone know how or have done this?

Also I noticed that the TPS is located right behind the air intake... One of the first things I noticed when I bought the car was that the previous owner was driving around with the air intake hose unclamped from the air filter, leaving the open side wide out in the open. Would the dust or anything being drawn in cause any problems with the TPS, or any other problems in general?
