So the other day my domelight decides to burn out. So I went to 3 different auto stores to get a new one, and they don't sell them. It's not even in there books for a Celica. I'm assuming it's one of those stupid dealer only items, but then I got to thinking that if I need a new light, I want a blue one to go with the rest of the blue theme. Any ideas where to get a blue dome light?

well, if you get a Ba9s LED; what you're getting is a Ba9s base pre-wired with resistors and LEDs.

so those will fit with no problem. if you want something just for cool factor, they might be bright enough, might even be able to read by them. only way to find out for sure is to try them. but what you should do first is open the dome light, and see what direction the led will face. incandescent bulbs will cast light pretty evenly in all directions. leds will shine light in a more focused pattern directly outward (sorta more like a spot-light). that's why you can get the 5-led matrix bulbs which have several leds each going a different direction so they can mimic the wide pattern of the incandescent bulb.

what i did, was to make my own led cluster, all 3 of them facing downward. so it produced more light than the 5-led-matrix where only one of the leds was pointing the ideal direction (down).

i'd say give one of them a shot, you can always use the bulb base to wire up something high-powered from places like these
