I just got a low milage engine swapped in...and I was wondering wut octane level I should use....I'm not sure if it's a 5sfe or a 3sfe all I know is it's JDM....and I read that using regular octane levels makes the engine preform better. Is that true?

I don't see why you couldn't run it on regular gas. I mean..it is, afterall, an engine built for use by the public.
