I just purchased some Tein S-Tech lowering springs and was looking for professional installation but my price quote seemed a little high. I called the only place in my town that can do it and they said $344 for the installation. Does that seem a little high or about right? Also how hard is it to install them yourself? I read the article but didnt know if a compressor was really needed and about how long it would take an average joe to install them right.

QUOTE(sanchezian16 @ Aug 15, 2006 - 10:02 PM) I just purchased some Tein S-Tech lowering springs and was looking for professional installation but my price quote seemed a little high. I called the only place in my town that can do it and they said $344 for the installation. Does that seem a little high or about right? Also how hard is it to install them yourself? I read the article but didnt know if a compressor was really needed and about how long it would take an average joe to install them right. I wrote that article in the how-to section, and just to let you know, if you are going from stock springs to lowering springs, it's best to have a compressor. but, you can just use spring clamps that you can rent at AutoZone or somewhere like that. Also, if you have not worked on your car much, I would suggest you get started on a day off, in the morning, and get working so you have all day, just in case. Also, personally, I would start with the back, because they are the harder of the 2, mainly because of the sway bar end links. Also, if you run into any trouble, you know we're all here to help if you get stuck somewhere during the install. Oh yeah, and 344 for an install is about 3 times too much to pay. -John- -------------------- |
