ball joints do NOT make wheels wobble back and forth...kindasad.gif
ball joints connect the control arms to the steering knuckle, this does not cause the wheel to wobble...

if you jack up your car and with the lug nuts tight move you wheel in and out (grab the wheel at 9 and 3 and push in and out) if it moves your wheel (in relation to the steering knuckle) bearings ARE BAD....i've replaced 2 sets of bearings because of this
if you let it go on for too long it will destroy your hub too and you'll have to get a new one

laugh.gif when i slid on ice into a curb and BROKE my balljoint and bent the control arm the wheel cambered back and forth wildly, the balljoint is the lower pivot for the wheel. it allows the wheel to camber + and - as well as turn in and out. camber on a single front wheel will pull the car back and forth, camber will pull towards the direction the top of the wheel points.
