Like I stated in the other post, I found out a few days ago that my engine is going bad. Which means engine swap. I'm not sure on many things so I figured I'd make another post asking questions I may have. Please try to speak in n00b because I don't know much about cars. So here goes:
Engines I'm looking at: 1mzfe (V6) 4agze 4age Questions: 1) Will any of these give me bad traction on take off? Dr. Tweak stated the 1mzfe puts out 190 HP and has more Torque than the 3sgte. Not sure about the other 2 engines. 2) Which would get better Gas Mileage? 3) What exactly is a Tranny? Is that the Transmission? 4) What Tranny would you recommend? Camry V6? Other? 5) How much roughly for the Tranny? 6) Which engine would you recommend personally? I don't want the 3sgte, out of my price range I'm leaning more towards the V6 cause well it's a V6 and you don't see many Celicas with a V6 in it, but I'm starting to worry about Traction. Car will be a street car so no drag. That's all I can think of Price Range is probably 5,000 may go alittle over but not much |

The 1/3MZFE came from Camrys 92+, Solaras, Avalons, ES300 etc.
They are what the MR2 guys use for their V6 swap also. The 1MZFE varies from 180-220(Sienna) hp. If more power is needed you can slap on a TRD supercharger which can be rated at 240ish A V6 swap that lurks my mind is the 2GRFE .. 3.5L V6 260hp (lowest) to 310ish.. and a crap load of torque. This engine has been swapped in a MRS. From what Ive been reading their lighter than the 3SGTE! Who wouldnt want a 260hp Celica that can run on 87 Octane! I don't want the 3sgte, out of my price range 1-Traction can easily be fixed with huge tires.. haha 2-The 4AGE would give the best gas mileage 3-Tranny is Transmission 4-For the 1MZFE a stock V6 tranny would be fine. Also you can use a MR2 Turbo Tranny (I heard their the same? minus LSD) 5-Depends.. Junkyards would be cheap, no more than 500 6-Personally, 4AGZE for performance, 20V for NA performance..
