Hi guys, my dad says that since I plan on putting so much into my celi, (interior and exterior red glow, seats reupohlstered in red/black leather, reverse glow gausges, etc...just bragging biggrin.gif ...) that I should get a fuel cut-off switch hidden in the car to turn off when I leave so the car only has enough fuel to get a few blocks if stolen unless the switch is turned back on. (It closes the fuel line from the tank and leaves the engine with only what it already has) I was just curious as to any methods you guys think would work. I told him the security system I'm leaning toward has starter kill. What is starter kill and is it effective? My dad says that a fuel cut-off is the best bet and I just want to know more about it and how much it would cost and just some general info. Also I would just appreciate any ideas that anyone might have (bucket of water hanging over driver door, giant rolling boulder, boxing glove on a spring, ejector seat, etc.) lol but I seriosly do need ideas. Help me out!!!

P.S.- Sorry for this LONG ASS post!

Sure it's nice to fantasize about putting a flamethrower under the car or a rotwieler in the back seat or shocking the f-er when her touches the car. btw the typical thief is a destructive person so they will more than likely bust your car up if they do get hurt by it.

Car security 101

Think like a thief, what would you absoultely hate when you're stealing a car?

--> Attention to yourself <--

Thiefs don't want to be seen doing what they are doing. The key to deter the most persistant theif is just that

Install some LOUD sirens (notice plural) outside. High pitch siren and low pitch siren, air raid sirens do wonders also. Hide the sirens in unreachable areas (ie behind the front turn signals), black loom all wires and route them with stock wires and out of reach from the open hood (ie inside the fender).

Install lights, lots of them, even if they are just for your alarm. Strobes, neons, blinking lights, flashers for your headlights/tails/fog/etc.. the more the better.

Install piezo pain generators inside the car so if they do get in, their ears will bleed to the sound of those piezos.

make sure your car is well equiped with a well installed high quality 2-way paging system with:
-shock sensor, tilt sensor, proximity sensor. Tune them very well so you get few false alarms.
-Starter kill (those also work on fuel pump and EFI circuits btw).
-Backup battery for the whole system (also relocating the battery to the trunk and read below)
-Electric trunk poper that only works with ignition on or remote (removing the lever)

that there is more than enough to choo away the most daring theif and make almost any attempt a failure.

what if they do take it away, cause it's still possible, unlikely but possible

install a GPS tracking device and call the police to track it down as soon as its noticed that it's been stolen.

Those are REALISTIC ways to deter thiefs without too much compremise to the normal opperation of the car.

If anyone needs help with wiring a "special" feature, PM me and I will help you out
