Suddenly, my coolant temp. gauge started fluctuating.
It always was rock solid at a little below midline,
regardless of 120F+ heat outside. Couple days ago,
it started fluctuatiung between normal and ~ 1/4 position.
It never went above normal - only below. My car has no modifications,
new termostat + coolant flush 3 months ago. No overheating problems ever.
It is 95 GT auto. Anyone had similar experience or ideas what it could be?

if your temp is normal at idle (about 1/2) and low (about 1/4) on the highway, then it is your thermostat that is stuck open. The coolant is flowing through your system continously. Replace the thermostat and then it will be fine (about 1/2) all the time.

on a side note, our engines were designed run at the normal optimal temp. Anything else isn't correct smile.gif
