i am looking about american pickups and i found this: "6 speed manual with overdrive"
what does this mean? 4f+od(5th gear)+R (dont think so)? 5f+od (6th gear)? or 6f +od (7th gear)?

you may think is a silly question but never saw od on a manual car before tongue.gif

It's just old school for higher gear. My dad has a 6 speed in his F350, btw. When they started putting the higher gear on, they called it the over drive gear. So, a regular 3 speed manual had the 4th gear as an over drive. Or, as the truck, the 6th speed manual overdrive transmission. The inverse of this in todays lingo, would the a close ratio 6 speed. In which the top of 6 is the same as the top of 5. No greater top speed, but closer gearing. The overdrive 6 is a gear ontop of 5. I think that's about as clear as I can make it.
