So its getting that time in my life when i need to choose a college, and every Summer of my life i go to San Diego to visit family, but I live in Michigan. I love going to Cali, and I have always had a dream of going to college there. I have to make a decision, The company I work for will partly sponsor me to go to kettering institute (used to be general motors institute), but I still want to go to Cali. I know a lot of people on this site are from SoCal, so if you could give me some input that would be cool. I have a 3.98 GPA and I take like all college prep classes, so hopefully getting in wouldnt be a problem. I was thinking like USC, or san diego state. I heard that you get tuition for cheaper if you establish residency, is that true? Another consideration is I would probably have to sell the car...

hmmm?
it depends on the whole purpose you have for even wanting to come to Cali... SD is a huge party school i have friends there and TJ is $12 away, even if you are drunk there is a train that is $6 each way from SD. If you want to have a good time and party it up while getting a decent education, then i think USC or SDSU would, unless your focus is entirely school then i would say stay, unless there is something that is holding you back in MI.. Def. establish residency if you come to California the difference in tuition would be $K's... -------------------- |
