I just realized today the the previous owner snapped off my latch release for the hatch, the one next to the fuel cap release. Now only the fuel door release remains and if I stick my finger in the assymbly I can feel where it was snapped off. I went to the dealer and they gave me the part number 6460620171, a "lever sub assy." They told me I could have it for the small cost of $75.79!

Ok so the part number is just for the plastic part... anybody have any idea how to get the darn thing out of there? I took off the plastic and it looks like a b*tch to get out.

QUOTE(phokur @ Aug 26, 2006 - 8:00 AM) Ok so the part number is just for the plastic part... anybody have any idea how to get the darn thing out of there? I took off the plastic and it looks like a b*tch to get out. Hey, I had the same problem on mine. To get that lever assembly out first remove the trim piece along the bottom of the door frame (on the floor), then unbold the two bolts on the left hand side that hold the seat railing onto the carpet so that you can lift the seat up a couple of inches. You then have to unbold I believe one maybe two bolts from the front of that whole assembly. After that you can push the assembly back under the seat and pull it out the back side, you have to pull it out from under the carpet and unbolting the seat is the only way to do that. You then just switch out the handle and replace it with the new one. BTW, it takes a little twisting and turning to get the assembly out from where it is bolted in...this might sound kind of complicated but it's really not, if you have any questions or want pictures let me know and I can help ya out. -------------------- ![]() We shall show mercy, but we shall not ask for it. |
