 Engine revving weird |

Ok so lately my car has been revving weird. Whenim in 3rd-5th and cruising a long at say 2-3k rpms if I hit the gas the rpms jump up to 4-5k as if I had the clutch in, then they drop back down to about 3200 and drive normally. What could be wrong?

sounds like the clutch is slipping, either its worn or has oil on it from a leaking seal. feel like the clutch pedal engages pretty high?
