 Engine revving weird |

Ok so lately my car has been revving weird. Whenim in 3rd-5th and cruising a long at say 2-3k rpms if I hit the gas the rpms jump up to 4-5k as if I had the clutch in, then they drop back down to about 3200 and drive normally. What could be wrong?

So I think the problem got worse. I was driving today, babying it and well my car idles under 1k rpm and feels like it could stall anytime. It even shakes when im in 2nd and 3rd gear.
