Ok, after today on my way home, I noticed a ticking sound coming from my engine bay. When I got home, I opened my hood while the car was still running. It sounds like the distributor or spark plug wires are giving off bad electrical pulses? Like sort of a static ticking sound. Kinda noticable even when the hood is closed. What happened? Any help would be appreciated. I've never ran into this problem before.

my car has just slightly ticked since i bought it 2 yrs ago, it wasn't LOUD but i figured it was the distributor since I stuck my head close to the engine. I didn't hear it on the road only idling in my drive way. So i guess just take the distributor off and make sure the contacts are clean and besides that idk what else i can tell you...I'm sure others here will be more helpful when they see this topic.
