Last week, I was driving, my car seems to drive just fine. Everytime I break on a red light, it feels smoothe with no problem.
This saturday I took off the stock air filter and installed a SRI. I dont see anything wrong with it. Although I found it funny looking cause nothing is really supporting the SRI. It's just hanging there connected by the blue rubber and clamps? Is that alright or did I do something wrong? Anyway lately I noticed something really weird too. For example, after leaving the car for the whole night, I start to drive to school. The car responds beautifully with no problem. Everytime I stop at a red light, it feels normal. Now I hit the highway for about 20 minutes and then back to the local road. This is where the problem begins. Usually, with my stock air filter installed, there wouldnt be any vibrations. Now after driving on a highway and getting off, I stopped at a red light and my foot is pressed semi slightly on the break. While it's idle waiting for the red light to turn green, the car feels a likes it vibrating more than normal. As in, I can feel my foot (on the break) vibrating slightly as I held down the break. Before I installed the SRI, with my stock, even after getting off the highway, this didnt happen. Now since I have my SRI on, I feel the vibration in my foot really well. Weird thing is also, this only happens after 30 minutes of prolonged driving. Is there something wrong with my car? Did I do something that may have caused this? the SRI I'm pretty sure is properly installed? What could be a problem? To the people with an SRI does this happen to you? Mine only vibrates when Idle and holding the break. when i'm parked, it doesnt vibrate at all? |

you have an automatic tranny? if so, it sound like that could be the problem and it is just a coincidence that it started to happen at the same time the sri was installed. some times auto trannys don't disengage completely when you stop because there is something wrong with the linkage or torque converter and this causes a vibration when stopped while in gear.
