Im a noob at this and i have been trying to do some resaech on the internet but i cannot find out what i need so i was wonderin if u all could help me out. I got a headunit i like in my car and i was wanting to put in 2 6x9s and just put them in there own box and leave the stock speakers alone. But my question is what all do i need to do to hook them up....do i need a amp and if so a mono or dual channel amp. Or could i just run them off the rear speaker wire and splice them into them but that seems lke it wouldnt work and just not sound good but like i said im new at speaker stuff.

Yea i agree with trdproven. I would avoid splicing into other speaker wires...Im not sure why you would want to install 6x9s anyways, but if you do then just buy a small amp and power it to the 6x9s. You definately dont want a mono as that is typically for subs, how many channels is up to you and how many speakers you want to hook up to your amp. Theres tons of research out there on the internet, and i know for a fact you could find information about wiring speakers to amps, and what kinda things you need.
