I have 101,000 on my odometer. My dad told me to use 10W-40 motor oil; my friend told me to use 10W-30 what do you guys use or recommend me using on my car? I don't want to wear out my car....

That's weird I went to the kragens today and I heard one of the employees talk about synthetic oil with one of the customers there, so I went up to him and asked him if synthetic oil good or just regular oil. He said that synthetic oil is good for cars with low mileage and he also said if I go synthetic, I can't go back to using regular oil because it would mess up my engine and it would leak. He said before using synthetic oil, I would have to drain all of my oil. Can somebody else clarify this for me?
