IF your boot just tore - most likely nothing got in -
what is a better venue - your own original axle rebooted vs unknown remanufactured (could be well abused before remanufacturing, cheap labor, inferior rebuilt parts - you get what you pay for)? BTW, toyota kit including inner and outer boots per axle is less than $40 from dealer. |

reman is just fine.
to put on an OEM boot you have to do all the steps involved in replacing the axle, and know how to take apart the cv joints (you'll need a GOOD set of snap ring pliers), a funnel, the CV grease, a good way to remove ALL of the old grease (probably about 6 cans of brake cleaner) and alot of time, frustration, and mess...also the special pliers to close the bands that seal the CV boots. -------------------- |
