 Engine knocking, some ideas ??? |

Well my engine has a knock to it. It only knocks whenever I turn it on and it hasn't been running for a while, and when I'm hitting around 4k RPM. It also does this a little whenever I'm in second gear(automatic tranny) around 3.5k RPM and I'm letting of the throttle. It doesn't knock during idle, or as loud. Does anybody have any ideas? The knocking is coming from where the valve cover is and I want to just take it off and see what I find but I'm a little short on money, so your help is appreciated.

The ticking or tapping is around 4k rpm, it is definitely a knock when I first turn it on but it only knocks about 7 times and quits. I added more oil and I don't really here the tapping but it still knocks whenever I turn it on. |
