tonight i quick ran to the store and when i got back in the garage i notice some heat waves coming out of the hood...i pop it open and i can literally hear coolent in the radiator hose boiling inside...something has to be very wrong...any ideas? I am throwing an error code on the dash..it looks like the chevy symbol with red wavy lines over it.. Its the one right over the battery code..Im sure this has something to do with it. Plus how hot to the touch is my water cooler suppose to be cuz thats also also rather hot. I dont have my sensor hooked up to my watercooler...does that have anything to do with it. .? Thanks guys

QUOTE(Baddica95 @ Oct 2, 2006 - 11:42 PM) tonight i quick ran to the store and when i got back in the garage i notice some heat waves coming out of the hood...i pop it open and i can literally hear coolent in the radiator hose boiling inside...something has to be very wrong...any ideas? I am throwing an error code on the dash..it looks like the chevy symbol with red wavy lines over it.. Its the one right over the battery code..Im sure this has something to do with it. Thanks guys Ryan if the water level sensor is disconnected the check engine light will come on and the pump wont run, think its code 54. if you have the sensor bypassed and the water cooler system is not filled, or has air pockets in it, it will make a bubbly sound when the pump runs and also will not cool very well. also the pump will only run for a min or 2 after it sees an open throttle condition. with my engine idling for a while the top of the IC is very cool to the touch. another note is if the coolant in the radiator was boiling, it would likely blow the radiator cap |
