i love it. one of the best things ive bought for my car.

the problem with the safc is that most people buy it, without even knowing what the hell they need it for. so they end up making corrections, without any way to monitor knock, or a/f and then they have problems. or they take it to their "tuner" who starts taking out a ton of fuel all over the place.

i have had one laying around for a while, so i decided to install it and use it for whatever monitoring functions it has. then maybe play around with adding a tiny bit of fuel in a few spots to allow for more boost. as long as you only add fuel, dont make big corrections, and have a way to monitor what your car is doing, then it should be just fine.

the real reason the safc gets a bad rep, is when people try to use it with 550cc injectors and have to take out lots of fuel all over the place.

If you are using it to add fuel without lowering base fuel pressure, you won't make any more power - you will just exacerbate the problem with the stock ECU running so rich.

problem for me was, that the car wasn't getting enough fuel as i turn up the boost. i never see the injectors going to 100% duty cycle. the idea with the safc is to monitor the air flow (aka afm) to see if it goes to 100% open. since then, i bench tested my afm and found it to be out of spec. i took it apart and i THINK i might have fixed it. we will see how it goes.
