Finally decided to tear appart my spare 20v engine and build it up for a turbo setup. This particular engine has soooo much sludge its scary. I will update this thread with info and pics as I go. Enjoy.

Not to sure how much boost I will run at the moment, need to do a bit more research as to how much a 20v with GZE pistons can handle...safely. I'll have to decide whether to get stock GZE pistons or try and go aftermarket. Rods are pretty strong to begin with. I'm sure 5-10 psi would be safe to begin with, after tuning a bit more.
For the cyclinder head, I was thinking of using Toda cams and gear(s). I plan on keeping the VVT and Toda has cams that will keep the system intact, just not sure what kind of duration/lift I want yet. A port and polish goes without saying. The engine is a '94 so I'm not sure if its the better model Coomer.....is there any way of telling them appart? For the ECU, I was looking at megasquirt and also considering the Greddy E-Manage Ultimate. The Greddy unit (part. no. 15500501, 15901500) is actually supposed to work with the AE101 Levin, so we'll see. The intake is just a matter fabricating something practical. I'll probably draw something up and give you an idea of my plan Coomer ![]() More pics latter today of the tear down. -Colin |
