Hello everyone, i am planning to swap my 7afe for a 4age, everything on this site has been more than helpful!!

I am trying to get together a shopping list of everything that i would need

http://www.japanmotorimport.com/inventory_...php?EngineID=34

starting from there, any help as far as parts, and little tid bits would be helpful.

have a lift & a **** load of tools

if somene could write a generic, yet detailed how to for this to help me get started id be forever thankful!

why the 4age? i want a semi fast, inexpensive (but not cheap) RELIABLE engine
big hp numbers are nice, but im looking to spend <2-3 grand for this & have money left over to restore my car elsewhere (small dents, slight scratches, small rust spots in fenders/corner of my driver door from rubbing)

ive been back n forth most all over dr tweaks site he dropped the one in that wagon so not sure if anyone can do a write up that i can start from

on a side note, if/when i ever get around to starting this thing i plan to document so people down the road can learn from my experiance

thank you to everyone in this community in advance in helping to point me in the right direction!!!

That website you are looking to by the 20v 4age from is the same place I got mines. Be prepared though, you will more than likely have a cut harness, cut axles, missing AFM, cut metal piping that connects to the p/s pump, as well as on the a/c compressor. So those two parts will have to be custom made in order for you to use the p/s and the a/c (bring the cutted piping to an autoparts store and make sure to measure the engine bay for in order to get the length of high pressure hose's you will need for both the p/s and a/c. You will also need a external p/s reservoir for the p/s. Any toyota external p/s reservoir will do just as long as the the hoses will fit over the 2 nipples on the reservoir (make sure to get one with a mounting bracket). You can use the same axles you have on the 7afe, but you will need to take out the short axle from the 20v. The 20v has a bracket that holds the short axle to the block itself, so just remove it and install the axles the same way it's installed on the 7afe. Just in case you may need it, ebay will be the best bet to get some of the parts you will need like new cap and rotor, complete wiring harness, afm and so forth. An ignition coil from a MR2 turbo (sw20) will work to replace the ign. coil, a ignitor from a Toyota T100 will work, a waterpump from a old model mr2 waterpump will work, and the AFM from a 1989-1991 4-cylinder camry will work. I've done my research on most of the interchangeable parts for the 20v using usdm parts from other cars so you can trust me on this. Also if you need to, register yourself on the club4ag website. And ignore those people that just flame you with wise remarks, most of them don't even know what there talking about. Some of them will give you valuable information regarding parts and the swap.
