ok....so i hear if you put cotton in your box it makes it louder??? am i right or is people just talkin crap to me???
Also, if it is right, does it matter if its ported or not, cause wouldnt the cotton come out in a ported box??? so one give me some insight please! thanks, Dustin -------------------- ![]() |

the cotton or "batting" creates an additional buffer for the soundwaves diffusing noise and vibration on the backside of the speaker.
Ported versus sealed all depends on what sounds you want to achieve. A sealed box produces tighter more pronounced bass "kick" where as a ported enclosure will spread out the low tones and give a wider variety of tones. |
