not to highjack the thread, but how much boost can a 3sgte take on stock internals... obviously with upgraded fuel, cooling and turbo, but how much on a stock block... my friend and i were arguing as to which was the stouter engine, me ofcourse saying the 3s, but he was pulling for the 4g63 (sp) well the motor from the evo....

"psi" dosnt really mean anything. you should think of it in terms of horse power and not boost level. boost will all depend on what turbo you use. on a healthy well tuned 3s, some people have made around 400hp. but, even on a 4g63, its probably a good idea to rebuild and upgrade the whole motor, if that kind of power is your goal. the 3sgte and 4g63 are very similar motors. the 4g probably has the advantage of being around for a long time, and getting a few revisions from mitsubishi.
