i just got a bumper painted yesterday from a guy's friend on a local forum. i had read a lot of good things about his friend's work so i decided to try him (re-painting a messed up bumper)

because the guy was doing it on the side, he couldn't really disclose where he worked... so i can't just drop by to look.

how do you tell the difference between a paintjob that uses 3 separate sprays of primer/paint/clear vs those mixed all in one ones? how many days should i wait to check for things like orange peel/spiderwebbing and stuff? how else do you check for the quality of the paintjob?

he's done a lot of work for members on that forum but they were all recently done so i have no idea of the long term quality.. so i just wanted to make sure he does gd work before i bring my celi to him

thnx

orange peel and spidering will show as soon as it is painted to about an hour after. most paint no matter what will have some orange peel. as for to check if it's 3 stage or 1. a 3 stage you will see much more gloss...and it will look much much deeper......the 1 stage looks kinda flat
