My celi randomly started misfiring a ouple days back. Cylinder 1 and 4. soo i decided, i was due to change the plugs anyway, so i did the swap. drove the car around, still misfires.
So i took a closer look at my spark wires and the bottoms were a little coroded, over a year and a half old, so i traded them in on a warranty. I pulled them out in the autozone parking lot so i could swap them in, got the new ones, put those in, and now the car wont start at all. It turns over, the starter is working, But its not staring up. I can get it to stumble over once or twice, but it refuses to stay that way. I checked the order like 20 diff times, thats fine, the battery and starter are fine, so im kinda stuck. The only thing that was changed form the time the car was running to when it wasnt, was the spark plug wires. So that being the only variable, what could be wrong? I was thinking maybe a fuel problem, but its kinda weird that that would happen right as im changing the boots. i had her towed to my house so shes sitting in my yard...lifeless. Any ideas? -------------------- ![]() The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed? |

alright, I would first like to start by defending my purchase decision.....
I dont usually shop at autozone, i had the wires under warranty, so i didnt feel like dropping another 70 bux if i didnt have to, when they didnt work and i was stranded, i figured id try something new. I know not to buy regular stuff there anymore. ok back to the issue... Heres what i did, I pulled everthing apart. wires, sparks, distributor wire, coil, ignitor everything that i touched. cleaned it, and put it all back together. When doing so i noticed a small crimp in the wire running from the distributor cap to the ignitor. I swapped it with the second one that came in the kit and it worked. I gave autozone hell for that one. The asswipe refused to swap it for a diff set! well as much as this blew, at least i know that between this and the swap. i finally have a solid almost brand new ignition system! -------------------- ![]() The question is not how far.
