Ok so here is the story.
I have a HP Pavillion ZE4900 Laptop. I've had it for ehhh 3 years. Reciently it was overheating alot, thanks to my geek buddy i realized my fan wasn't working. After calling a few places and getting quoted too much money i decided to take matters into my own hands. Sooooo i took my laptop apart (BIG pain in the ass) The fan was so full of dust, and thanks to my beautiful Bella... cat hair. So i clean it out, compressed air and all, put it all back together ( with the exception of one screw i can't figure out where it goes. ) I turn the computer on, and it seems fine. 15 min later, it dies, the fan wasn't spinning. So i go to Circut City... i got a targus notebook chill pad. Works great. All of a sudden my fan starts to work again. So now, with the fan and chill pad my computer is doing fabulous. OR SO I THOUGHT! Yesterday i was online and i got a blue screen that said something to this effect: ( BLUE SCREEN ) It says something about if this is the first time restart the computer, which is stupid because it doesnt let you restart, and it restarts on its own. Beginning dump of physical memory. Physical memory dump complete........ It happened last night for the first time. Then i was watching a movie and it did it again. At this point i just shut it off. This morning i put the computer back on and other then my active desktop needed to be restored it looked fine. anyone? -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

QUOTE usually physical memory dumps are overheating of your cpu, ram or something else. rarely are they driver related. Tell that to the school district i work for. It might be a rare thing, but it occurs, and because HP and compaq are the same company I assume they still use the same technology. Also when you update drivers incorrectly it can really screw things up. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money
