Just a quick question but i'm curious as to what exactly was the difference between the regular GT-4 and the limitied edition WRC model for the 6th gen. All that i'm aware of in difference was that they had the tall spoiler and appox. 2100 were made... Water to air intercooler like the 185 RC? Anything else?

For those that do not understand what j0e_p3t has posted The anti lag was only on the wrc versions for homologation purposes. Which basically means, if there were not xxxx number production cars that had the antilag, then they could not run it on the rally cars. It is not actually hooked up on any st205wrc unless someone has activated it themselves. Its the same thing with the timing belt cooling duct, which if you look at, actually is not even functional on production cars. But since they were on the production cars, they could use it in wrc. I beleive on european cars they used the intercooler sprayer plumbing system as headlight washers or something from the factory ![]() TTE got banned because they were moving the cfm restricter farther away from the turbo so they could build more boost. Which was gaining them an extra 100hp! Thats what wiki means by "turbocharger irregularities" -------------------- 88 celica all-trac

QUOTE(4g-gt-four @ Nov 15, 2006 - 10:22 PM) TTE got banned because they were moving the cfm restricter farther away from the turbo so they could build more boost. Which was gaining them an extra 100hp! Thats what wiki means by "turbocharger irregularities" not exactly correct... For 95, the FIA deemed that turbo restrictors could not exceed 34 millemetres, 4 millemetres smaller than what was allowed previously (and in effect robbing the toyota of it's power advantage). Although nobody has taken official blame for this decision, sombody decided to design and implement a highly illegal moveable restrictor that could be expanded past the 34 millimetre limit without the seal being broken (keeping the "evidence" very well hidden), giving increased airflow and restored power.... The FIA was none the wiser for most of the 95 season until the Langley Park stages in Australia in september, If I remember correct, where the celicas competed side by side with competitors on a "special stage". The Celicas, with the illegal restritors and large power advantage, were visibly faster off the line, thus prompting the FIA to investigae into the matter... Eventually the FIA found the restrictor and it's adjustibility, and promptly banned TTE from competition for quite some time... Toyota had no recourse to save itself, so to speak, because the restritors were last inspected by the FIA in May of that year, pretty much proving that Toyota was very aware that the restrictors were there and that they were utilized to the fullest extent... Sad really that TTE had to resort to cheating just to stay competitive with the 205, because if the car wasnt so long nosed it prolly could have been fairly competitive otherwise... -------------------- Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06
