While changing my oil today, I noticed a couple of things that screem, "You will have to fix this motor soon!" So, I called up my dad and he wants to just put a new motor in it. If we were to get a new motor, what would be the issues with swapping it. And I don't mean another 94-95 5sfe. I mean a newer 96+ 5sfe. He might try to pull that 93 and under 5sfe crap with me, but I'm not going to let it happen if I have to stick with a 5sfe. It's newer, or a performance motor. I'm putting my foot down on the cheap dad.

if you have a 94-95 and want to swap to a 96+ ( i always recommend a 98+ for the stock metal headgasket), you'll have to use the distributor from your old motor, and possibly the EGR valve.
if its outta a celica, that should be about it, that i can remember anyway...lol
if your using a camry motor or whatever you may also have to change the water by-pass pipes, and possibly the water necks. basicly the best thing to do i just go over each sensor , water necks, ect, quick and make sure theyre the same. if not, just switch out whatever is needed from the old motor to the new one. wink.gif
