um.. i just had a question...
so if u're collecting parts for a diy turbo kit.. but you don't have everything to put it together yet... how do you test a used turbo to make sure it's in good shape and runs? like.. u can check for shaft play... but not sure what else.... just that some people have like a startup warranty or a 30-90day warranty... or there's just really no way? since i somehow doubt any shop has the resources lying around to just bolt it up and fire it up for a test run -------------------- |

your best bet is to start with a known when it comes to the turbo.
buy a good core, and have it rebuilt by a reputable shop. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

I did. Pressure2 - do you think the 3K miles on a good running MR2T would have hurt my turbo to the point where I should have it rebuilt again? I trust your word above all other but damn another$500 to get it rebuilt again? I was just trying to help a friend - do you think I f*cked myself in the end? -------------------- ![]() |
