So earlier today, I went to one of local flea markets/swap meets and picked me up a pair of 6.5" Boston Acoustics S60 component speakers for a reasonably nice price. Not many BA Authorized dealers around town, or so I've heard. But anyways, my front two speakers are blown and I'm wanting to replace'em. My only problem is that I don't know how to get started on it. I have the 6-speaker set-up in my car. If anyone can pull up a How-To article for me that can help me switch out the speakers, that would be friggin' awesome and I would greatly appreciate it.
BTW, while I'm switching out the speakers, would it be a good idea to put some Dynamat in the doors since I plan to add a small sub later on down the road? -Alex -------------------- -Alex {](O_o)[}

QUOTE(NgoFcukinWay @ Nov 18, 2006 - 2:45 AM) ok, i have the door panels off and everything, but i've no idea how to take the speakers out of the brackets. hell, i'm not sure if the 6.5" speakers I bought for the front will fit....help please. there are four screws that go thru the speaker ring into the bracket. take them out and pry speaker off. there is a black adhesive sealer that will pull apart as you pry. be sure when you install new speakers to keep the polarity of the wires the same. by the way for some added info i changed out the blown stock speakers i my 94 gt.i had four 5x7 infinity's that i had taken out of a ford i sold. they fit perfect into the front brackets. unfortunatly they dont fit the rear brackets. i am working on modding the rears by adapting a spare front braket i have. if it works i'll post the entire adaptation This post has been edited by cochise: Nov 17, 2006 - 10:09 PM |
