 I need the transmission experts help, Car died in the middle of the road |

Well, 2 days ago while in traffic my car suddenly died on me. It's a 95 ST.
I was going about 30 coming to a stop but didn't because the light turned green. So, I switch it into 3rd gear and then it just died there. Got it towed back to the house and everything. I was wandering if anyone can help or any inputs as to what the problem is? I know it's not the timing belt and I am thinking that it's the clutch disc. Now, I don't know if they can get loose over time or whatever, but that's my guess right now. Why? Because naturally, if you don't step on the clutch, you can't move into the gears, now I can move into the gears freely without even stepping on the clutch. So that's my main reason I think it's the clutch. I was wandering if anyone had any similar problems or any inputs as what's wrong? |

Easy test...
Make sure there's nothing in front of you. With the car stopped and off... shift to first gear. Hold the clutch... start the car. If it jumps... there's something wrong with your clutch system. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
