Got my car back today! after it got it's Spec stage 2 clutch and a fidanza lightweight flywheel, it was all ready to go... or so we thought... so after a new battery as well, I was able to drive it today for the first time in like 2 weeks! it feels soooo nice with the new clutch and flywheel, but, I have 459 miles to go to break in my clutch... I really want to see what it feels like now. But I have a quick question, for the 500-mile break-in of the clutch, does that need to be 500 city miles, or do freeway miles count?

well, I drove the car about 140 miles today. I decided to take a cruise on a curvy mountain rode for about 50 miles, to help the break-in process along. I didn't accellerate around any corners, so I was probably pushing in the clutch every 4-5 seconds for about an hour. I'm just counting down the miles... probably about 120 non-freeway miles in so far... 380 to go.
I love the way the flywheel feels. I'm willing to bet money that the 0-60 time is below 8 seconds now. it's just so rev-able. if you push the clutch in and just coast it does lose speed a bit faster, but it's not too annoying. -------------------- ![]() 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |
