Does anybody know how much boost the 5sfe can take. Im am seriously thinking about getting turbo on my car and i dont want to blow it up. How much would be a same daily running. My car has almost 100k on it. would it be wise to put on a turbo without a overhaul on my engine. I dont want to get rid of my engine for a 3sgte, I want to keep my gt a gt. It is a sentimental thing. I just couldnt part with my 5sfe.
also i have an automatic, will it be able to handle the extra boost? |

If you are not satisfy with 5-6psi of boost, I think that you should look for a old 3sgte or 3sge engine and work from there.
Toysport have engines that you can work with. You can get a 2nd 3SGTE engine and use FWD instead of 4WD. Traction is not a problem unless you go with a turbo upgrade and up the boost alot. We have 1990 levins here with fwd 3sgte. I am not sure if the tranny is an mr2 one but I read some way that you can disable the GT4 box from 4wd to FWD. Good luck |
