alright i have lookeed at a few engines, i think i may get a 4AGZE or a 4AGE. i want the z b/c its already turboed and comes with everything i would need including an ECU for 1200 plus shipping. what do you all think? any better ideas?

mmkk, then, what info does anyone have about a 3s swap? i found one thats turbo with the wireing harness, ECU, 5-speed tranny, and everything else. its a 3SGTE and is also 1200.

Get a compression test on that engine if possible. I'm not sure the numbers though, but i'm pretty sure there's someone here that knows it. Anyways, If it's all good, I would take it since it's pretty much everything you need for the swap. You might have to modify a few things here and there but it's pretty much a straight forward swap aside of putting in the intercooler components and wiring harness. There should be a post or sticky somewhere regarding the 3sgte engine. If not, you can find some tech sources on the celicatech.com website regarding the engine. Also, since you mentioned it has a 5 speed tranny, the engine more than likely came off of a MR2 turbo. So this involves a bit more modifications to the tranny, possibly the tranny cables, and the driveaxles to make it work out on the celica. You still can use the stock GT tranny on the 3sgte, but if you feel that you need to up the boost for more power, than think about modding the MR2 on the celica or get a hold of a V6 camry solara tranny.
